Although you get energy from the sun for free, you will pay for the so-called transfer, but even this fee can be reduced as much as possible. More than 700,000 people have already opted for photovoltaic systems . households in Poland. This number is constantly growing, but there are also more installations supplying companies, public buildings and public institutions. Energy from the sun is cheap, and thanks to government support and programs such as My Electricity, it becomes even cheaper.
What are the benefits of photovoltaics?
First of all, it means lower electricity bills by up to 90%. A well-suited photovoltaic system in terms of size will meet the electricity demand of the whole house! Thanks to this, you will not take energy from the network, and your bills will be significantly reduced. More information can be found at revoltenergy.eu.
Photovoltaic is an installation that does not emit CO2 or any other greenhouse gases and dust. It is environmentally friendly during operation and also when it comes to disposal. The average lifespan is 30 years. After this period, the panels are recycled. Currently, there are specialized processing plants that recover 96% of raw materials.
Photovoltaic panels can be combined with a heat pump. This is another solution that brings savings and is environmentally friendly. A heat pump is a heating device powered by electricity. With PV modules on the roof, you have plenty of it, and therefore the operating costs of the heating system are very low.
Amendment to the provisions of the RES Act
From April 1, 2022, the regulations regarding the method of settlements between prosumers, i.e. owners of photovoltaic installations, and the operator have changed. So far, this has been done on the basis of net-metering. Simply put, it was barter. In return for storing your surplus electricity, the energy company collected 20% or, for installations above 10 kW, 30% of each 1 kWh introduced to the grid.
In April this year, the old system was replaced by net-billing. All surpluses that enter the network are sold to the operator. When the need arises, e.g. after dusk, when the photovoltaics stop working, you buy electricity from your supplier.
It is worth noting that owners who installed photovoltaic systems before April 1, 2022, have a guarantee that they can settle accounts under net-metering for 15 years. However, all installations after April Fool’s Day are not lost. The My Electricity program offers an interesting alternative.
My Electricity Program
You will receive funding for the purchase of photovoltaic panels, and if you decide to additionally purchase energy storage, the help will be even higher. In total, you can get up to 21,000. zloty. Much depends on the number of pro-ecological solutions you will implement at the same time. Moreover, the program can be used by beneficiaries of previous programs in the field of support for the purchase of energy management systems, energy storage or chargers for electronic cars.
